Vintage ​Restored 1940s Cinema Chairs Pair

We've finally got our hands on some old cinema chairs, we've been lovingly restoring them for a few months.

The seats were originally used by the Army, supplied by NAAFI back in the 1940s. The base of each seat had a logo on, but we have had to replace each seat base cover so the branding could not be saved.

The frames are solid cast iron, which have all been stripped down and repainted in a specialist gold metal paint, which was the original colour.

The deep forrest green paisley fabric used on the seat is a soft luxury velvet, with a rub test of 40,000, the backrest is also a soft velvet, with a rub text of 49,000.

The wooden frames hiding beneath the fabric have also been re-bulit and treated for wood worm, as there were small tiny holes throughout, so we have treated to ensure this is no longer live. All upholstery has been removed and professionally replaced with new foam, making these super comfy.

The wooden frame exposed is solid Oak, as are the arm rests and floor plinth. These have all been sanded smooth and oiled leaving a lovely fresh feel. The plinth allows the chairs to sit on a floor standing alone, without the need to fixing to a floor.

The pastel pink painted areas are painted in Farrow and Ball, sulking room pink.

The seats are beautifully finished by hand, fully restored and ready for a new home.

Our delivery service is NOT FREE and we provide UK Delivery only, we can not ship worldwide but we are happy to deliver to a shipping depo on your behalf.

All our large items listed are sent with a specialist courier, which is family run, they take great pride in taking care of our items, all items are blanket and bubble wrapped for transport safety. Delivery days are specified and live tracking updates are given so you don’t have to wait in all day.

The delivery price is listed as FREE for all UK locations, however, the delivery price is payable directly to our courier prior to the delivery. They will provide an invoice and VAT receipt if required.

The fee for delivery is based on your location and the size of the item, delivery prices range from £55-80 per item.

If you are in Scotland or Cornwall Please inquire prior to purchase for exact cost, there is often a 10% increase for these areas. Highlands and Islands are also more expensive and difficult to reach, so again, please take note of this prior to placing an order.

Our price to deliver covers a door to door ground floor service, our drivers are not expected to carry heavy items up flights of steps or put your item in place within your home. Most of our items are heavy but a single man team can deliver most items with ease providing the terms are noted. If you require a two man team, or can not assist to get your item in your home due to ill heath, access or any other reason, please get in touch prior to purchase to request a two man service, for which we will quote accordingly.

We aim to ship all items within 7-10 working days - If you require an item in a hurry please get in touch prior to purchase to ensure we can meet your due date. The date for delivery on your order form is an estimate, we try our best to keep to these but it is sometimes it is not possible due to some locations being a little further afield.
